Hi there!

I'm Mark. Web Developer, Runner, Pixel Artist.

ABOUT ME

Sheffield-born Web Developer, I have spent my life making and building digial content. With a history studying both Mobile App Development and Animation, you're likely to get some obscure and eclectic answers if you ask me a question. Forever waving the banner for both mobile responsiveness and accessiblity.

Web Development

I have been working in the industry since 2016, growing from a junior to a senior developer over my tenure. Primarily a Ruby on Rails developer, but dabbling in Vue & React, I have spent seven years in teams building retirement communications, modelling tools and online benefit statements.

Here's just some of the people I've had the privilege of working with!

Running

When I'm not creating something, you'll find me running around the streets of Sheffield. I have been an avid runner since starting a couch to 5k in February 2016. Since then I have completed hundreds of distance runs, including 150 Parkruns and seven consecutive Great North Runs.

I strongly believe in making running an accessible space for all abilities, and I'm not afraid to recount horror stories from events!

Pixel Art

Pixel art has been a passion of mine since discovering the hobby editing sprite sheets in 2003. Over the past 20 years I have created numerous pieces, from small icons to larger, more elaborate pieces. Tool of choice is Aseprite, followed narrowly by pre-Windows 7 Microsoft Paint.

(Yes, there was a difference. Only true artists know about MS Paint's secret 10x zoom option)

An assortment of pixel art I have created, including three character portraits, a Chain Chomp from Super Mario, a helmet and alien from Halo, and a scene based on Ori and the Blind Forest
